The Maison Royale Hoodie is not a re-creation - it is a reverent translation. In 1887, Jacob's small Parisian workshop produced what the clubs of Deauville and Biarritz would soon favour: luxurious cotton sweatshirts worn with the ease of sport and the polish of leisure. Hoodies as we know them did not exist then; what existed was a spirit - a uniform for refined movement, an elegance born on bright courts and shaded club terraces.
We took that spirit and made it modern. The Maison Royale Hoodie draws directly from those early sketches: the relaxed yet deliberate silhouette, the emphasis on natural cotton, and the quiet dignity of a garment meant to be lived in. Where Jacob once cut cropped, sport-inspired sweatshirts for the new aristocracy, we have added a hood and refined tailoring so the piece reads contemporary without losing its provenance. The result is a hoodie that feels inevitable - as if it might have always belonged to both the tennis court and the drawing room.
Every detail speaks to that lineage. The cotton is a heavy, long-staple knit chosen for its soft hand and lasting structure.
